Lyrics
Through years of decay, I lost the better part of me
when leaving left me with nothing but the void.
I sank beneath the mire, a lifeless monument;
uncertainty guiding my descent.
Through day and weeks and months and years,
hours upon hours upon hours upon hours,
I never faced the burden of truth:
I built a version of us and watched it crumble.
Where did we go?
I don't know how we lost our way.
Where will we go when our time no longer wastes?
No longer will I doubt the love that brought breath to my barren lungs.
Eternally, I'm yours.
Where past becomes prologue, our hearts intertwine
in resplendent upheaval that defines
our existence in a world that could never understand
the beauty in dreams beyond the emptiness.
In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
and gone is the ache to wake and waste the days.
There is clarity in absentia and there is courage in defeat.
I'll find you.
Where did we go?
I don't know how we lost our way.
Where will we go when our time no longer wastes?
And if we never make it; if we never beat the odds,
we'll chase the sun until the world is won
so shadows never reach us beyond the emptiness.
